DrenZ is a hyperlocal, verified thrift platform for KIIT students to buy, sell, and swap pre-loved essentials. I founded it and built the entire backend, DevOps pipeline, and most of the frontend — shipped to production, end to end.
Every semester, students buy and sell the same essentials — books, gadgets, furniture, fashion — through scattered WhatsApp groups and word of mouth, with no verification, no payment safety, and no easy way to find what's actually available nearby.
DrenZ turns that into a proper marketplace: a verified, student-only platform where listings, payments, and handoffs all happen in one trusted place — built specifically around how a campus community actually operates.
Live from the admin panel. Transactions read zero because payments aren't switched to production mode yet — not because nothing's selling.
*Payments not yet in production mode.
I own the backend and infrastructure end-to-end, plus a significant share of the frontend.
Full-stack framework powering the PWA — frontend and API routes.
Database, auth, and storage backing the entire platform.
Payments, with HMAC-verified webhooks and secure handoff codes for exchanges.
Push notifications so users don't miss chats, offers, or meetups.
Deployment, custom domain DNS, and SSL for drenz.co.in.
The Razorpay webhook wasn't registered on the dashboard, there were schema gaps, and Row Level Security was silently blocking unauthenticated inserts. Fixed by switching to a service role client for those writes.
Payment status wasn't always reflecting correctly on the confirmation page, so I built webhook polling into that flow to keep it accurate.
Diagnosed and fixed a critical session-persistence bug in the auth middleware — the kind of bug that erodes trust fast if it isn't caught.
Set up a Playwright test suite to catch regressions on core flows before they ever reach production.
Configured custom domain DNS and SSL, and deployed and manage the app on Vercel.
Built internal tooling to manage listings, users, and orders without touching the database directly.
